In Moving
Mountains, Steve Frisch takes the reader on a journey of self-examination that helps
us see how our beliefs determine our life's experiences. "...if you choose to always
think what you've always thought, and if you choose to always do what you've always done,
then you will always get what you've always got."
This process may sound simple
and intuitive but anyone who is consciously moving through it knows the emotional struggle
and turmoil faced when moving from one level of thought to a higher one.
For those individuals who don't
have weekly therapy to assist them in their personal growth, nor friends or family with
which to discuss these issues, Moving Mountains is an excellent resource.
Steve Frisch does a tremendous
job in outlining for the reader, the philosophy of self empowerment and
self-determination. He then, through a series of exercises, helps the reader identify his
or her own limiting beliefs, fears, etc. that may be impacting their lives. Uniquely,
Steve identifies key areas of fear or limitation that keep us all stuck in experiences we
no longer desire. He calls them "Universal Obstacles".
Finally, Moving Mountains provides
a wonderful template of ways to perceive our experiences so that we can continue to expand
our powers of self-determination and self-empowerment.
I believe for those of you who
are more advanced in examining and re-stating your beliefs, this is a powerful and
important area of Steve's text in that it acknowledges the difficulties encountered when
living this process daily. Here the author articulates realistic experiences that describe
the struggles we all encounter, while providing a perspective that will assist the reader
in moving through these obstacles.
I
found his perspectives helpful and they actually provided me the energy I needed to move
forward on a project of my own. I highly recommend Moving Mountains by Dr. Steve
Frisch, Psy. D.

Moving
Mountains has empowered me to make the kind of changes in my life that I only dreamt
about before. Since reading this book I have been able to say good-bye to a relationship
in which I was abused for over 15 years. I have gone back to school to get the training
necessary for me to leave my dead-end job. For the first time in my life, I feel like
Im in control of my own destiny. A must read for anyone who dares to think bold but
is too paralyzed how to make those dreams come true.

Moving
Mountains came at the right time for me. The part that helped me the most was Dr.
Frischs discussion on Universal Obstacles to empowerment. I was able to see for the
first time how I have stopped myself from having the kind of life I am capable of. More
important than opening my eyes to how I was stopping myself, through the exercises in the
book, I was able to formulate a plan to stop myself from stopping myself. The work is
hard, but now I wake up in the morning more determined than ever to claim the happiness
that Im entitled to.
